Use a piece of tape to mark the base pole 12" from the pigtail end.  Put a screwdriver through the hole about halfway up the base pole, and use the screwdriver as a handle to screw the pigtail end into the ground up to the tape mark.  Next, slide the two piece stabilizer onto the base pole, push all four prongs into the ground, and tighten the thumbscrew on the stabilizer.

Add your extension piece, aligning the button on the base pole with the hole on the extension piece.

If you are adding a baffle, now is the time to do it.  Slide the collar piece onto the pole, in the direction that the collar looks like an upside down snowman hat.  Slip your baffle over the extension pole so that it rests on the collar piece.

Add arms and finials, hang your feeders and enjoy!

 

Boxed Advanced Pole System (APS) Double Arm Basic Setup includes a pole that has an auger on the bottom to easily screw it into the ground, a stabilizer to keep the pole from leaning, an extension pole, double arms and a chickadee final on top.  Sturdy pole system to which you can later add additional arms and other pieces.

APS Pole Setup for Squirrel Resistant Feeders includes the base pole with the auger on the bottom, the stabilizer, extension pole, an arm that gets the feeder 10 inches from the setup, and a chickadee finial.

APS Pole Setup for Bird Nest Boxes includes pole with auger to easily screw it into the ground, and a flange that attaches to the back of the nest box.  We suggest adding a raccoon baffle (pictured below) to protect your birds from predatory raccoons and snakes.

Squirrel Baffle show on section of our APS Pole.

Squirrel & Raccoon Baffle is shown on a section of our APS Pole.  It is recommended for all feeder poles and for nest box poles.  We all have raccoons; you tend to not see them because they are nocturnal.

Wrap Around Squirrel Baffle fits poles from 1/2" to 1 3/8" in diameter.  This baffle splits open so you can wrap it around a pole to install it.
